Got Questions?

I see patients in my Mamaroneck office as well as virtual patients from around the world.

New York has a “Direct Access” Physical Therapy law in place. It allows licensed physical therapists to provide direct physical therapy evaluation and treatment services for up to 30 consecutive days without obtaining a referral/prescription from a physician or other healthcare provider. If treatment is necessary beyond the initial 30 day period, the physical therapist will communicate with your physician to obtain authorization to continue treatment as needed.

If you have not seen a physical and are not sure you should see, I can help you find one.

First part of an evaluation session is interview. I will ask about your condition, injury and your goals from therapy. Then I will do a physical exam. This is a hands-on evaluation based on your symptoms but often includes full spine and hip evaluation, functional tests, Range of motion, strength and pelvic floor exam.  We may evaluate external and internal muscles. The goal is to identify the root cause of problem and understand the “why” behind your symptoms.

During this session I may perform appropriate manual techniques internally to structures of the pelvis, including the pelvic floor muscles, nerves, and bones (coccyx). As the patient, you always dictate the care you are comfortable with and can refuse any treatment at any time without an explanation.

I typically know how you are responding to treatment within the first 1-3 visits. I pride myself on empowering you to play an important role in your care. I will not tell you to keep coming back without a plan or goals that are individualized for you. You might only need a few visits or if it is helping you, we can continue with more.  Some people come in weekly while others are monthly. I will meet where you are and make sure you meet your goals.

I am an out of network practitioner for all commercial insurances. I will provide you with a document which you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement (if you have out of network benefits). My office can help you figure out your benefits.

I am an out of network provider because it means I can provide you with better care. I see my patients for a full hour, one-on-one, without passing them off to aides. I make a treatment plan based on your needs, not the needs of your insurance plan.

Because of longer treatment sessions and more in-depth approach, my results are quicker and I need to see you less often. Instead of 2-3/wk for most in-network practices, I usually see my patients 1/wk and get them lasting results.

For all of these reasons, I choose to remain out of network.
